What is a Youth
65Youth is endless parodoxes
What is a youth?
Some thoughts occurred to me this week as my son turned sixteen. My son might or might not have anything to do with these, in case he is reading these.
Youth is endless paradoxes:
Youth is
loving your parents so dearly and treating them so cruelly.
believing in what you’ll become tomorrow no matter how much you hate yourself today.
saying sorry without meaning it and not saying sorry when you do mean it.
yearning to be like the great and upright persons and attacking them fiercely in front of your friends.
trying hard to be different from your parents but behaving exactly like them.
lying to people who care about you and telling the truth to those who don’t care at all.
getting drunk even when you hate yourself during the drinking and despise yourself the next day.
enjoying your youth and feeling embarrassed about it.
loving the opposite sex and honest believing the opposite sex is foolish.
adoring your best mates and knowing they are jerks.
speaking four-letter words and loving poetry.
hating friends who get angry so readily and parents who keep their cool.
hating to be young and feeling scared about getting older.
adorable and disgusting, more adorable and more disgusting if the youth is your child.

i think, ur writing shows the controdictions about youth and the deep love to ur dear son. as a teenager, i can't help nodding when reading ur words, and sure, i would be so happy if i have a father as observant and considerate as u! later on, i would try to think more deeply. thank u for inviting me to ur blogs. hope u all the best and remember me to ur families(esp, ur son)!
Great job Doc. Hope your son does read it. It's so true and we were there so looong ago, seems like yesterday. I knew it all back then didn't I? LOL I was so smart.
The post shows a perfect understand of what transpires at the youthful stage of ones life. Thanks for being truthful to what you have experience.
