There Is A Special Someone

58

By Benson Yeung

I whine, and I smile, When the pain goes, the bliss remains.

There is a special someone,

Who shows me the beauty of being alive.

Her arms shield me from all worries.

She makes me fearless.

There is a special someone.

Who greets me with smiling eyes.

Her laughter turns the long dark night into morning.

When she went, my room was filled with endless sighs.

Like everything else under the sun,

A gentle breeze comes and goes.

Brushing shoulders with my special someone,

I am but a traveler in time and space.

I whine, and I smile,

When the pain goes, the bliss remains.

I don’t know how, where, or when,

One thing I know, I will see her again.

To my patients and friends who are reading, and most importantly my wife:

It probably kills the romantic mood of this piece to include a disclaimer, anyhow: it's all fiction, folks.
